The Recovery Choice
We present a unique model to help release you from addiction and disempowering "recovery traps."
It consists of universal principles:
The Drive Toward Happiness - We all have a natural desire toward happiness; it's what's behind everything we do. We choose what we believe is the best option for achieving a satisfying, happy existence at any given moment of time.
Freedom of Choice - Each human has the unique ability to choose. All behavior is chosen, either consciously or subconsciously. The power of subconscious choices is what affects us negatively, making us feel like victims.
Personal Autonomy - The human mind is independent; we can't be forced to think or feel any particular way by anything outside of ourselves. Personal change is always a choice.
If you notice, these are all mental attributes since addictiveness is primarily a result of your thoughts and subconscious "belief systems."
With the awareness of these natural attributes, you can stop perceiving yourself as limited by your use of substances, but rather a proactive self-changer with the capacity to move past addiction to a state of empowered freedom.
We address the challenges of addiction on a personal as well as a cultural level.
Society has convinced us of addiction mythology, increasingly persuading that to stave off addiction we need external "cures." Treatment, support, rehab, 12 Step Programs and the like are important, but internal resolution is what creates permanent freedom from addiction.
Our focus is on what's motivating your addiction, rather than being fearful of being without it.
You are already capable of solving your problems.
Unlike most recovery models, we will never tell you that you are powerless and will always make incorrect choices unless coerced not to. We help clarify the process of personal change, owning your power to make positive choices that serve you best, and providing tools to know what choices align with who you truly are.
You can change.
Addiction is from a fundamental belief in a lack of ability to change. It's feeling stuck in a fearful notion that something else controls your mind and body. By addressing how and why we think the way we do, we give new choices to undo those mental, emotional and physical shackles.
Our goal is simple - discover just how powerful you are and always have been.
As we clear the myths and false beliefs away, an intuitive understanding of your inherent ability to create the course of your own life becomes the core of your being. You can change all those troubling behavioral patterns, and be happy, fulfilled, and energized.
Our specific objectives:
To help individuals understand that the "causes" for addiction are just reasons made up to explain their use to self or others. These reasons may include traumas, stress, enjoyment, relief, etc.
To demonstrate that the reasons for substance use are controlled by the individual, and, as such, the reasons can be separated from the substance use habit. For instance, a traumatic event in one's life does not have to lead to substance use.
To educate how to change through self-discovery and positive reinforcement, rather than any type of controlling, manipulative, or punitive approaches.
Throughout the process, we provide self-awareness tools so the substance user can make different choices in every moment.
Our primary purpose is to help you examine beliefs, thoughts, choices, motivations, and goals.
This construct allows you to grow past self-limiting and damaging ideas, to your own version of self-created happiness.
